TICO Center of Expertise for autonomous vehicle software

In order to meet the increasing demands of its customers, Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) has bundled its software developments in autonomous vehicles (AVs), increased its global investments, and established a new center of expertise: T-Hive. By combining the software products, partnerships and innovations from TICO’s main brands – Toyota L&F, Toyota Material Handling, Toyota Material Handling Europe, Raymond, Bastian and Vanderlande – the organization has significantly strengthened and expanded TICO’s main brands solution portfolio.

TMH Europe launches new autonomous vehicle

In September, Toyota Material Handling Europe launched a new autonomous vehicle at TMHNL in Ede. Around 70 people, mostly in sales, from 20 different countries spent a day from lunch to lunch to learn more about this new vehicle. The event kicked off with a CDI vehicle entering the Automation Dojo in Ede accompanied by fireworks and music. Then there was demo of an inbound and outbound flow, executed by 4 different types of autonomous TMHE vehicles, of course including the star of the show, the new CDI vehicle.

    Nagoya Port was nominated as Super Hub Port in Ise Bay, and therefore Tobishima Container Terminal was faced with the challenge to cope with increased international cargo containers and to receive bigger containerships. President Mister Kato also predicted changing circumstances in Japanese ports, such as global economy change, environmental and resource crisis issue, and oversea ports development. He advocated a quick reaction as evolution from status quo as a chance based on our standing point and particular situation without loosing the good way of Japan.
